A Long Weekend in West Bay

Well, we were getting packed and it seemed Milo wanted to come too, but he had to stay because we weren't staying in a dog friendly caravan.  But that was ok as Liam agreed to look after him.

It's Saturday and lovely weather so we're off to Weymouth.  This is the view on the way over from West Bay.

And this is the view without us in it - better I hear you say.

We had a lovely time in Weymouth.  We came back to the caravan, had something to eat and then sat down to watch the TV, this is us watching Strictly.

We go into Sunday and the weather is sunny and we decided to go to Lyme Regis.  This is the view along the promenade.

It was so lovely and warm, we all decided to have coffee and cake and we sat outside.

It started to spit with rain so we decided to head back to West Bay but not before Cornish Pasties were bought.  The rain didn't last long.

Another wonderful day in Dorset.

It's now Monday and we've got to leave West Bay unfortunately, so we decided to go via Weymouth Harbour for a coffee before heading home.  It was a bit windy so that made it too cold to sit outside.  We found a lovely place right on the harbourside.

We found this bike and thought we had better have our photo taken.

And that was that and we came home.

An unexpected Day Out

We were woken up really early, that's not good.

Bibley stuffed us into her work bag and told us to keep quiet as she was going to smuggle us into work with her.  We did as we were told (this makes a change!!!)

After work we went into Lewes for a mooch with Fred Bear and Beanie.

First stop we went to a pub for a drink and had a chance to meet Beanie again and to be introduced to Fred Bear.

This was a very welcome break and we all fun and exchanged presents.  Beanie was a bit rude though.

We were all getting hungry, so we made our way to a pizza restaurant, so we could stuff our faces. We shared a starter which as yumtastic - now that filled a hole.

This is what Bibley had and we shared that with her, Lebanese Lamb -a  different topping for a pizza, but it was tasty.

Vish had a pizza with everything, so we all helped eat that too.

And then onto dessert - but because we were all so stuffed, we decided to share one dessert between us.  Luckily we like the same thing, so had salted caramel chocolate tart with clotted cream - what's not lo like, right?!!!

Well, that was absolutely ...  words fail us  (I know it's hard to believe !!!) and we all fought over it, well what do you expect.  So we've decided to go back just for the pud.

Cor that was so filling we collapsed in a heap with enjoyment.

Off we go again

Well, we were packed up and ended up in Weymouth again on Friday.  The view behind us is The Fleet.

Saturday -

Milo was allowed off the lead as he couldn't get through the fence.  The Fleet is in the background.

We all went for a coffee and as the weather was warm, although a bit cloudy, we sat outside on the harbourside, then Richard decided to photo bomb.

Sunday - what a lovely warm sunny day, so we decided to go to The Nothe and have a picnic and we spent the day there.

We arrived and parked the car and this is the view.  We all got ourselves comfortable when we found our spot for our picnic.

Milo certainly got himself comfortable.

Now Milo is keeping guard.

And now he is just enjoying the sun.

And we're all sunbathing.

Beanie - we had ice cream - yay and it was very yummy.

And then we all went for a paddle, it was lovely and warm.

It was a brilliant mini break, but we had to come home the next day (Monday) - bleurgh.  Hopefully we'll go back soon.

Gambling on the Pier

This was an interesting day, but we had to get up really early and catch a train to Brighton.  Bibley took us into her office where we met Beanie, this is the three of us having a chat on Vicky's desk.  We had to wait all day long before we headed out to Brighton Pier.

And here we are.  We went with Vicky, Andrea and Beanie and Bibley where we gambled to see what we could win.

This is Andrea and Beanie, if you look closely you can see him.  After we had finished gambling it was decided to go and get something to eat, so we went Italian.  We found this place.

Beanie, Vicky and Bibley had a bottle of wine - shouldn't be allowed - Andrea went quiet, Bibley talked a lot and most of it was rubbish and Vicky just sat there grinning and dancing in her seat.  But the food was good.

We all got our prizes out so we could see what we all won, these were Bib's to the front of the photo.  The others are some of Vicky's.  It was a good stash.

Bibley finished her dessert (chocolate cake) and was scraping her plate when Beanie slunk over and .......

Beanie got himself a chocolatey nose !!!

A good, fun day was had by all.

To Weymouth

Saturday afternoon and sitting on the harbourside having hot chocolate and cake.

And then we took Milo for a walk.

And here we all are just chilling and watching the world go by from our accommodation.

And then we all decided to go for a walk on the beach, it was lovely.

We walked towards the Pavilion and looked back at the beach and Weymouth Bay.

And Richard and Milo were so tired by all the walking and fresh sea air that Bibley had to take a picture.

Karekare Beach

My last full day in New Zealand and I was asked what I'd like to do, so I said I'd like to go the Karekare, which is a short drive from Piha.

This beach is beautiful and very large, there are people in the distance, if you can see them !!!

This beach was made famous by the film 'The Piano'.

The walk back to the car.

This is a view towards Karekare Beach, you can just see the rock in the middle of the picture.

And then the next day it was time to get a flight home.

Auckland Airport.

And home to these two.

This wooden Maori statue freaked Milo out - ha ha ha.
